Google rich results test tool is live !




Google has recently announced that Rich Results Test now fully supports all Google Search rich results features, and it is officially out of beta.

With that news comes the company’s old structured data testing tool, which will soon be out of the league. The structured data testing tool is still available for now, but we highly recommend using the Rich Results Test instead ASAP. When Google’s Rich Results Test launched in 2017, it offered support just for four types of structured data: recipes, jobs, movies and courses.

Now that the Rich Results Tool has finally caught up with modern times, it allows publishers to test more structured data more efficiently.

Google said these are some of the reasons to use the Rich Results Test over the Structured Data Testing tool:

  • It is fully aligned with Search Console reports.
  • It renders both mobile and desktop versions of a result.
  • It shows which Search feature enhancements are valid for the markup you are providing.
  • It handles dynamically loaded structured data markup more effectively.

To make the transition easier from the old tool to new for people who aren’t familiar with the rich results test, Google will still offer the structured data testing tool for a limited period.
